Many countries are still restricting foreigners without visas or residencies, like the Philippines, to enter. However, there are many people with long-distance relationships whose plans to meet were cancelled due to the pandemic. If you crave to be together, but your countries are not yet allowing your partners to enter or visas are not yet available, you can check out our list on countries that have opened their borders and allows you to meet.

1. Montenegro

Montenegro is a European Country in the Balkans; they have already opened borders and tourism to most nationalities. Are Filipinos allowed to leave PH to enter these countries: Yes

Visa Requirements for Filipinos: Visa Required. You can read our guide on How to Get a Montenegro Tourist Visa.

Visa Exemptions: Those with a valid visa from Australia, Bulgaria, Croatia, Canada, Ireland (Rep.), Japan, New Zealand, Romania, USA, United Kingdom or a Schengen Member State can stay for a maximum of 30 days

Conditions in Entering Montenegro as per their government’s website

Visitors travelling from most countries require a negative PCR test from a registered lab, taken within 72 hours of travel to enter Montenegro. Children under 5 years old are exempted. Those with a second dose of COVID-19 vaccination done 7 days before arrival can enter without PCR Tests.

There are also exemptions from persons who have stayed in the following countries for more than 15 days:

  • Albania
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Croatia
  • Kosovo
  • Serbia
  • Russia
  • Belarus
  • Ukraine
  • North Macedonia

Visa Exemptions: Those with a valid visa from (Multiple-Entry) Schengen, Canada, USA or United Kingdom can stay for a maximum of 15 days. For Schengen Visa Holders, you can stay for a total of 90 days in a 180 day period.

Conditions in Entering North Macedonia:

As per IATA, Published 15/10/2020 – entry regulations lifted on July 1, 2020. Everyone can come here without restrictions.

4. Serbia

Serbia is not really a known country. But if you ever heard of Novak Djokovic or Nikola Tesla – this is their home country. There are also 5 Cultural World Heritage in Serbia as well as vampire tales. It’s really a fascinating country to be in! Serbia also shares borders with Montenegro.

Visa Exemptions: Those with a valid visa from Switzerland, USA or an EEA Member State for a maximum stay of 90 days can stay for a maximum of 90 days within 6 months.

Conditions in Entering Serbia:

  • Antigen or PCR Test done 48 hours before arrival

As per IATA, Published 15/10/2020 – entry regulations lifted on July 1, 2020. As of September 2, a Negative PCR Test Result at most 72 hours before departure, because of the increase of the cases since tourism opened. Also, fill-up a Declaration form.

As per IATA, Published 19/06/2020 – you must present a completed Questionnaire upon your arrival. No quarantine or PCR Tests needed.

  • Test is done before your departure
  • Insurancemay be asked

  • Only the Paraguay border is open for land crossing.

Visa Exemptions: Those with a valid visa from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Ireland (Rep.), Monaco, Romania, USA, United Kingdom or a Schengen Member State can stay for a maximum of 30 days and can be a total of 90 days within 6 months

Conditions in Entering Croatia:

As per IATA published 14/10/2020, Passengers are not allowed to enter until November 2. However, one of the conditions include that this does not apply to passengers traveling as tourists with a confirmation of accommodation booking or entering Croatia to transit by land to another country (e.g. Montenegro.) Most nationals except EAA or European Countries will be asked for proof of negative PCR Test not older than 48 hours. You can also fill this form ahead. Please note that you may be subject to medical screening and self-isolation if found with symptoms.

For Filipinos to go out of the country, here are the requirements you will need as per Bureau of Immigration:

Most nationalities can enter; however, some may need to present a negative PCR Test Result.
