1. Have a lovely walk at the Muralles de Dubrovnik

Going to Muralles de Dubrovnik or Walls of Dubrovnik in Croatia is a walk that would let you understand the rich and traditional history from the middle ages up until today. These walls were built between the 12th and 17th centuries as Dubrovnik’s defense. Every corner in this walled city is just beautiful. You can find plenty of bars and restaurants in the area as well. However, you have to prepare your wallet since going here is really expensive. And expect to do a lot of walks though, so not really for the faint-hearted.

2. Explore the Old Town of Dubrovnik

The Old Town in Dubrovnik offers attractive buildings, restaurants, shops and so much more to see. Most of the things you’ll see here were destroyed in the 90s war. However, they were able to restore them really well, it seems like you just traveled back in time. The prices in the old town are also quite higher compared to other places outside it. But that’s understandable. Expect a lot of walks and steps as well.

3. Chill at the Island of Lokrum

To experience an awesome adventure, visit the Island of Lokrum. It sits in the Adriatic Sea and measures 600 meters from Dubrovnik. Experience a 15-minute boat ride from the old port going here. On the island, you’ll see lots of cafes, restaurants, old buildings, botanical gardens, and some spots available for swimming! Not to mention the view that this island has. Plus, you can do a long or short hike while spending an hour or even a day here. No time is wasted when you arrive on the Island of Lokrum.

4. Enjoy the view at the Fort Lovrijenac

Another place to admire and imagine that you’re back in the past. Fort Lovrijenac is not so big fortress but definitely offers a lot of gorgeous views. However, you won’t find any explanation or information regarding the Fort here. So if you’re interested in that, it’s recommended to get a tour guide or bring a guide book with you. Although it’s still your choice if you just want to enjoy the moment while you’re here. And why not? From the Fort, you’ll see a perfect view of the walls of Dubrovnik. How lovely!

5. Climb up to the Mount Srd

For the adrenaline jinkies out there, this one is for you! Mount Srd is located just behind the Dubrovnik Walls. If you want some adventure in your things to do in Dubrovnik, Croatia, this one is ideal. The mountain only measures 412 meters. Climbing up won’t require a lot of time unless you’re not totally physically fit (or you’ll do a lot of stops to take pictures). After a short hike, you’ll be rewarded by, of course, a very stunning view of the city that’s surrounded by hills. But if you’re not really into hiking but you still want to go to the top, no need to worry as you can ride a cable car. It’s a bit pricey though.

6. Admire Dubrovnik from a different view at the Dubrovnik Cable Car

Do you want to have a look at Dubrovnik from a different angle? Well then, the Dubrovnik Cable Car can help you! Imagine looking at the old town, the Adriatic Sea, and plenty of islands on a top view. The trip will only take you a minute but in that short time, you’ll be amazed by how gorgeous the whole Dubrovnik is. The price for a ride is at least 25 EUR per person, and that’s one way. However, you can choose to just walk down the mountain when you go back.

7. Enjoy your day at Lopud Island

Going to this island should be added to your things to do in Dubrovnik, Croatia list. Lopud Island is just a small island that measures only 4.63 square kilometers. There are tons to see and things to do on the island. You’ll find cute little shops, bars, and restaurants with really good food. There’s also a monastery wherein you can pay a visit. You can go here via a boat ride as well. The island is peaceful and offers a beautiful view just like the Lokrum Island. However, Lopud Island is much cheaper compared to Lokrum.

8. Be stunned at the limestone street of Stradun

Walking through Stradun or also know as Placa is one of the best things to do in Dubrovnik, Croatia. Stradun is the main street in Dubrovnik. It measures a total of 

300 meters throughout the Old Town. This street is busy but very lively. Not to mention that the street itself is really gorgeous and picturesque. It’s a wide marbled street surrounded by medieval buildings that include the Franciscan Monastery in which you can visit as well. If you like shopping, then you’d also enjoy wandering around seeing a lot of shops here. Whether you go here during the day or night, everything is just lovely.

9. Take good pictures at the Pile Gate

The Pile Gate is the entrance into the Old Town. It is a 1537 stone gate that features Renaissance Arch and Drawbridge. There’s a children’s playground on the other side of the gate and kayaking on the other. It also offers glorious views. The gate itself is also very picturesque. There are a lot of photo opportunities here.
