Some of the driest places on Earth are located in the Middle East, Central Asia, China, and Mongolia. The Middle East possesses a desert climate which gives it the highest temperatures on the planet. Contrariwise, Russia is home to the coldest weather in the populated world. A village in India experiences the highest precipitation in a year.
South Asia has a mixture of the monsoon weather which means heavy rainfall along with tropical plains with high heat. East Asia to have temperate weather with a heavy downpour season, particularly in Eastern China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, South Korea and most of southern Japan. Much of continental Southeast Asia has a tropical grassland climate, while its island portions between Asia and Oceania are distinct for their tropical rainforests.
Many different geographical features, such as mountains, rivers, and deserts are represented in Asia. The Himalayas is the tallest mountain range in the world and Mount Everest is the tallest mountain on Earth. Also, the Syrian, Gobi, and Arabian Deserts are among the among the world’s largest deserts.
Asia is well known for celebrations and festivals. It is a land where festivals of different cultures and religions are being celebrated. Among the major Hindu festivals are Diwali, Chinese New Year, Holi, Baisakhi, and Eid, Dussehra, Onam and Christmas and are celebrated with great fervor all over India and the Philippines. Many of the traditions and customs in Asia are a result of the different religions practiced in the country. The most popular religions of the continent include Islam, Hinduism, Taoism, Sikhism, Buddhism, and Christianity.
Air travel is likely to be the favored mode of transport between the many Asian region travel destinations due to the vast distances and stretches of water bodies separating them. Fares are lower on average than in Europe or America, and low-cost airlines in Asia are rapidly expanding their networks particularly in Southeast Asia.
Food in Asia can be categorized in three:
Chinese cuisine has become the most popular Asian style of cooking. Southern Chine dishes emphasize freshness and tenderness. However, northern Chinese style is oily and the use of vinegar and garlic tends to be more popular because of the colder climate. In contrast, Japanese cooking came to emphasize the frequent use of deep-frying and raw foods. Korean cuisine is focused on grilling or sautéing and the use of hot chili spices.
Southwest style has centered the use of hot peppers, black pepper, cloves, and other strong spices. Also, flat bread, rice, beans, sheep meat, kebabs, and curry are staples in this dietary culture. Through the teachings of Hinduism, cows were used only for their milk and not for meat.
The emphasis in this cuisine is the use of quick stir-frying, steaming, and boiling, enhanced with distinct spices and seasonings, citrus, and herbs such as basil, cilantro, and mint. Furthermore, while northeastern cuisines focus on using soy sauce in most of their dishes, many cultures in the southeast substitute fish sauce along with ginger/galangal, lemongrass, and tamarind for added flavor.
