The best proof that you are legally married is a PSA Marriage Certificate. It is often needed for changing your civil status, updating IDs, applying for a passport, visa, or even submitting requirements to the SSS, DFA, or immigration. This certificate is issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and follows civil registry laws in the country.

A PSA Marriage Certificate contains key marriage information. It is signed by the couple, witnesses, and filed with the Local Civil Registrar (LCR). It usually takes 2 to 3 months after the wedding before it becomes available at the PSA. Processing depends on how fast your municipality and LCR forward the documents. This is also needed to get your PSA Birth Certificate and applying for the Philippines Digital Nomad Visa.
