A PSA Birth Certificate is perhaps one of the most sought after requirement for almost anything in the Philippines. From getting a passport, applying for a tourist visa, getting married or getting any valid ID; a PSA Birth Certificate is needed.

Civil Wedding Requirements - How to Get Married in the Philippines

A PSA Birth Certificate is a document stating vital information like your complete name, date, and place of birth, gender, nationality, and your parents’ name. This information is then given to the local civil registrar and archived at the Philippine Statistics Authority. This is to know the data of the country; births and deaths.

A copy from the PSA is always needed as it is genuine. Most also need it together with the official receipt as there are places that make counterfeit PSA Birth Certificates. Sometimes, PSA also updates its security features to avoid being copied.

Here are the ways on how to get your PSA Birth Certificate.

As far as I know, you must open a FedEx account and give account number and your name on the account, in order for PSA to ship it to you. I don’t think they will send the documents without this info. Does anyone know how long this wait will be?? thanks/ salamat
