Know Your Courses
Each course category has a training regulation (TR) manual which serves as the basis for competency assessment and certification, registration and delivery of training programs, and development of curriculum and assessment instruments.
The TRs consists of four sections: the definition of qualification, competency standards, training standards, and national assessment and certification arrangements.
Definition of qualification refers to the competencies that describe the different functions of the qualification; it’s comprised of “units of competencies” that a trainee must achieve in order to be qualified. Competency standards provide the specifications of competencies needed for effective work performance. Training standards, on the other hand, lists information and requirements such as curriculum design, training delivery, entry requirements, equipment and facilities, and the like.
