1. Historical Bodrum Castle will take you back in time

If you happen to visit Bodrum, do not miss the Bodrum Castle. In here, you would find a number of interesting things such as bazaar, old – school coffee shops and of course, souvenir stores. However, don’t forget that the castle is more than just a tourist spot as it holds stories even young couples would appreciate. And obviously, it’s a good spot to take memorable photos with your loved one.Beach and History of Bodrum, TurkeyJust some quick facts, Historical Bodrum Castle was built by Knights of Rhodes in the early 15th century. For six centuries, it served as a military base, a small village, and even a prison. Can you imagine all the things that happened here? To date, it is one of the most popular spots in Bodrum and also houses the Museum of Underwater Archaeology, which is another must visit for young couples. Now that I already mentioned about the museum, let’s talk about it further.Beach and History of Bodrum, Turkey

2. Museum of Underwater Archaeology will release your inner pirate

This is considered the most famous museum in town because of its wide collection from the Bronze Age to the Medieval Times. Established in 1964, the museum was ahead of its age as this practice of underwater archaeology was only accepted in the 1980s. It actually started when a diver saw a bronze statue of a woman submerged in deep waters. This happened in the early 50s and as the saying goes, the rest is history. From then on, the museum expanded over time.Beach and History of Bodrum, TurkeyYoung couples will be fascinated about the shipwreck finds which might remind them of one of the greatest love stories on big screen, Titanic. Haha! Aside from being amazed with rare finds, I sometimes felt chills down my spine thinking about the unfortunate endings of these items in shipwrecks or museums in general. I’m pretty sure you would get the same feeling too. Museum of Underwater Archaeology is unique and one of its kind, you will never regret it.

3. Visiting Bodrum Traditional Village is a humbling experience

I always love to have a traditional village tour in any place that I go to, and Bodrum was no exemption from this. By seeing the everyday lives of the locals, you learn things which you can never find from books and over the internet. You will embrace the culture more and that’s what happened to me in Bodrum. Aside from this, I was able to experience their hospitality and of course, their food! Nothing gets more authentic than by the food prepared by the locals. And you know me, I am always up for food challenges so I really enjoyed this part of the trip.Beach and History of Bodrum, Turkey

If lucky, you can also witness how the famous carpets in Turkey are made by the women living in town. It’s really taking you back to the days where everything was simple and for me, young couples should experience this humbling experience. It’s a life far from what we are all accustomed to!Beach and History of Bodrum, Turkey

4. Turkish Food will make you fall in love… with the place even more!

A Savory Journey in IstanbulTrying out Turkish food is a must because the delicacies are so scrumptious! You really have to get a bite for yourself if you don’t believe me. Anyway, what I like about Turkish food is that they always use simple yet the best and quality ingredients that gives any dish that explosive taste. During our stay, we have tried food from different restaurants and how I wished I can tell my mouth to stop. But everything was so tempting, I had to give it a shot. I’m sure you will face that same challenge of not eating everything on your table. Good luck then. Haha!

Who doesn’t want a romantic dinner in a beautiful place with your loved one, right? What’s good about Bodrum is that it has a number of places where you can have a relaxing and romantic meal. The sight of the ships beautifies the view as well. We highly recommend to have dinner in a yacht. Request for some cheese and wine and get the best out of your vacation. We are certain it’s one of the moments both of you will never forget.Beach and History of Bodrum, Turkey

6. Visit Caves and Swim in Fresh Waters and go extreme

Beach and History of Bodrum, TurkeyCouples who do extreme adventures together are known to last longer. While there is no concrete study on this, I believe it works for us and for other couples traveling together. It usually creates a strong bond between each other. Good thing Bodrum has nice spots for caving and aside from that, you can also swim in fresh waters. This is good to include in your itinerary if there is a need for you to connect with nature.

7. Traditional Turkish Hammam

Luxury Hotel Review: Swissotel The Bosphorus, IstanbulAnd after doing most of the recommended activities and places above, you and your partner should try the Traditional Turkish Hammam. If you are not familiar with this, just think about having a sauna but more similar to having an ancient Roman bath. It starts with going into a room that will allow you to perspire. And then of course, the soothing touch will make you fall asleep. I bet you deserve that that massage. The session will be finished in a cooling room that will undoubtedly make you feel rejuvenated and ready to take on the next destination, or perhaps to explore more of Turkey.
