The Old Town is a well-kept, irregular triangular-plan fortress built at the point where two rivers meet and is set in a park. It is strategically located on a height at the confluence of two rivers, in an area quite far from the modern city center. Dating from over 500 years ago, this fortress was the scene of an important battle between Croats and Turks at the end of the 16th century.
