On our recent visit to Istanbul,  we were welcomed by the warm hospitality of Swissotel The Bosphorus. The historical city of Istanbul hosted the World Tourism Forum 2016. Our dear Kach and Jonathan were cordially invited to be one of the main speakers at the event. We were totally thrilled and honoured with this new opportunity.

Swissotel The Bosphorus is conveniently located near to our conference centre (LÜTFİ KIRDAR ULUSLARARASI KONGRE VE SERGİ SARAYI) near Besiktas and Taksim area. The hotel is perch on the top of the hill overlooking the charming Bosphorus Strait. The Swissotel The Bosphorus caters majority for business travellers because of its location. They can also hold big events, conferences and meetings both for private and business related.

The Swissotel The Bosphorus has an elegant marble and welcoming lobby area with a stunning view of the Bosphorus. The Swissotel has 566 rooms and 28 meeting/function rooms. The rooms are newly refurbished with a fresh look and modern design. The hotel also has apartments for long staying guests and a loft style suites. AMENITIES

Luxury Hotel Review: Swissotel The Bosphorus, Istanbul

The hotel has a stunning lobby; this is a wow factor from the moment you arrived as if you are watching the picturesque view of the Bosphorus Straight on a big screen. The reception of the hotel is a little bit hidden on the side next to the concierge services desk. Business centre services and in-house luxury shops are also available on the ground floor.

The Swissotel also has recreational facilities readily available for the in-house guests as well as for the hotel gym members. The gym is fully equipped with the latest equipment and exercise classes are also available. The spa services are also next to the gym and offer different services for the guests. The hammam facilities are also available for men and women. There are also indoor and outdoor (depends on the season) swimming pools.

FOOD

We had a complimentary breakfast included in our stay in the Swissotel the Bosphorus. The New Cafe Swiss restaurant has an excellent selection of hot, cold, traditional Turkish and continental food options.  The show kitchen chefs can also prepare individual request breakfast options. I’m sure with the massive selection of food there is something that will suit your taste buds.

The lounge/bar area in the lobby also offers light snacks and refreshments to the guests while being serenaded by the live entertainer of the evening. The restaurant also serves an excellent a la carte selections for lunch and dinner. The Swissotel also has a unique Chalet restaurant for a perfect Swiss dining experience in their 100-years old chalet that was imported from Switzerland with very cosy cabin ambience. The Gaja Roof and Sky restaurant are open in the afternoon through the dinner time during summer season only; this restaurant will give you the perfect opportunity to enjoy the skyline of Istanbul 360 degrees.

PEOPLE

World Tourism Forum in Istanbul with Two Monkeys Travel Group

We are sincerely grateful for the warm welcome of the Swissotel the Bosphorus team. The staff are warm, friendly and always ready to attend to our requests. The check-in and check-out are efficient and swift, and I specifically like the unique email reminders that they sent to find out my check in and out time for a more efficient process. These reminders are helpful for business travellers who are always in a hurry.

AREA GUIDE

The Swissotel is located on the European banks of Bosphorus Strait. The hotel is about 15 mins walk away from the closest port if you want to experience the Bosphorus cruise. The Dolmabahçe Palace is a historical palace since the Ottoman empire; this is just a stone throw away from the hotel and worth a visit.

If you are up for a great nightlife and shopping until you drop experience, Taksim area is a perfect place to be. Just ask a member of staff at the concierge desk to arrange a taxi service to take you there.

From Ataturk Airport, you can take the train and metro to Kabatas. The hotel is about 10mins away from the station. Istanbul is notorious for it horrendous traffic; it would be easier to walk, however if you have massive luggage with you, it would be a different story.
