Does EasyJet Offer Cancellation?

The cancellation policy of EasyJet depends on the time you cancel your booking.

  • If you cancel your reservation within 24 hours of booking, EasyJet will give you a full refund minus the Cancellation Fee.
  • If you cancel more than 24 hours after booking, EasyJet will not refund any of your fares. You may choose to change and get an alternative flight.
  • If you need to cancel because of a serious illness or close family bereavement, you need to contact EasyJet’s Customer Services Team as soon as possible. They might ask for certain proofs regarding this matter.

How to Cancel Flight Within 24 Hours of Booking

Step 1

First, go to EasyJet’s main website.

Main portal of the EasyJet website

Step 2

Click on “Manage Bookings”.

Step 3

Sign in to your account.

Step 4

Select the “Cancel” button just next to the flight you will not use.

Step 5

Pay the cancellation fee which costs £30.

NOTE: You can also call EasyJet so they will process the cancellation for you. However, it will cost you another £5 to do that.

Again, cancellation with a full refund is only possible if you cancel within 24 hours of booking. If it’s more than 24 hours, there will be no more refunds. But you can choose to change your flight instead.

Flight Changing Fees

In cases of a delayed flight, denied boarding, or overbooking, passengers may claim compensation amounts depending on the regulations set by the EC and UK authorities.

If your flight is delayed, you may receive vouchers for expenses such as meals, telephone calls, and even faxes during the waiting time.

Please see the chart below to know the fees you need to pay when you change your flight.

If your flight is affected by extraordinary circumstances, such as bad weather, security threats, or air traffic control restrictions, EasyJet may offer an alternative flight to your final destination. However, under EU exit amendments, regulations for compensation eligibility might differ for UK and EU flights.

If you booked your flight through online check-in, secure your passport in a passport holder and ensure your hold luggage complies with EasyJet’s policies. Also, don’t forget travel insurance can also help recover additional costs related to flight changes.
