Radisson Blu Royal Astorija in Vilnius, Lithuania – Perfect for Your Classic Style

By Kach Umandap December 17th, 2017 Posted in Best Luxury Hotels, Destination, Europe Travel Blog, Travel Blog No comments

Every country that I visit is a milestone for me. But there’s something really special about the road to my 100th country– I feel like I’m closer and closer to realizing my dream of seeing even just a fraction of every single country in the world.

Lithuania is my 96th country, and I was welcomed with a 1-degree-freezing-weather. Good thing I was in the UK right in time for the Black Friday Sale, so I was able to buy those much-needed fur coats for my trip to the Baltic States and Norway! 🙂

Despite all the layerings I did to keep me warm, it was still a struggle to walk outside especially that I’m not that used to the cold since we’ve been based on the warm, sunny, and the humid Florida Keys for some time now. Good thing that Radisson Blu Royal Astorija is within the Capital’s Old Town so going around is a lot less of a struggle as everything is just so close.

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD STAY AT RADISSON BLU ASTORIJA HOTEL

Aside from the friendly and helpful staff, I’m giving you a list of why you’ll never go wrong in choosing Radisson Blu Astorija Hotel.

1) It’s in the Old Town- The Old Town is one of the largest surviving medieval towns in Northern Europe where almost all the attractions are. You’ll really save a lot of time and money on transportation by staying here.

2) It’s 6 kilometers away from the airport- From there, you can either take the bus, the taxi (for 20 Euros) or Uber which is more convenient for me. I only paid 4 Euros for it!

3) The view from the hotel is amazing!- The hotel building itself looks stunning and dates back as far as 1901. You’ll be surrounded by old buildings, churches, courtyards, and cafes you’ll feel like you’re taken hundreds of years back.

4) The breakfast buffet is excellent- They serve really good food (my favorite is the omelet) and fresh fruits to start your day. They have a wide selection perfect for every appetite.

5) It has a magnificent architecture!-  It dates back to 1901 and it with its undaunting beauty, it seems to me that this hotel is also an attraction in the Old Town.

THE ROOMS AT RADISSON BLU ROYAL ASTORIJA HOTEL

The hotel pampers guests with 5-star amenities and takes them in either one of the 119 comfortable and spacious rooms. I was given a business room, and everything I need is right in its four corners– a huge and comfortable bed, an LCD TV with cable, a private bathroom complete with toiletries, robes & hair dryer, a sofa set, safety deposit box, and a minibar.

I had a wonderful view of the main street and old buildings from my window, and it’s just wonderful! My room is spacious enough to fit all my luggage even when it’s wide open– I even have a lot of space despite all the clutters (can’t help it especially that I’ve been moving a lot). The carpeted floor kept me warm in the freezing weather. The room is quiet and has access to high-speed wifi which is perfect for my live video. I am genuinely happy with my hotel 🙂

You can choose from the Standard Guest Room, Superior Double Room, Business Class Room, Junior Suite, Presidential Suite, Royal Suite, and Single Room.

THE FOOD AT RADISSON BLU ROYAL ASTORIJA HOTEL

For me, trying a local cuisine is one of the best ways of exploring a country. As I’ve mentioned earlier, the breakfast buffet is excellent– you’ll know that it is made only from the freshest and high-quality ingredients, so I’m sure everything else in this hotel is!

Astorija Brasserie Restaurant- Indulge in traditional french cuisines such as salade niçoise, onion soup, mussels, tender veal cheek, and crème brûlée. The experience wouldn’t be complete unless you get exceptional French wines and champagnes to compliment the food. The view from here is beautiful!

Astorija Bar- What could be better than getting the best view of the Old Town from above with an excellent liquor on hand? This full-service bar offers plentiful drink options, a full menu of entrees, pastries and desserts.
