Luxury Hotel Review – NIZUC Resort & Spa, Cancun, Mexico @nizuc_resort
Upon reaching Cancun International Airport, you only have to take a short drive before you experience the paradise NIZUC has to offer. From being backpackers staying at the most affordable hostels, we are now enjoying the luxurious lifestyle in some high-end resorts. Now, what do we have to say about this amazing place?
We arrived at NIZUC after 6 weeks of back-to- basics backpacking, so we were more than ready for some hard-earned luxury rest and relaxation. From the moment we arrived, we felt that NIZUC was more of a retreat than a resort, the entrance way lined with trees and flowing water integrated into every aspect of the design.
The beach was more tranquil than other areas of Cancun and offered endless snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boarding opportunities. When we weren’t in the sea, we lounged in the two infinity pools, both overlooking the ocean. Check their website to learn more about this award-winning luxury property!
The staff at NIZUC are definitely well-trained and they truly understand the value of service. They are innately friendly too and their warm smiles will make you feel at home. Our stay was even more memorable because of them. From the hand on heart with every hello, to the chatty golf cart drivers who were always there to take us where we needed to go. They would go out of the usual and exert effort to please the guests. It is safe to say that they are already a big asset for the resort.
NIZUC has carefully designed the resorts’ interiors not to overpower the true beauty of the area which is the surrounding sceneries and crystal blue waters.
It boasts a 29 – acre property with to die for beach and it has 274 rooms, 6 world – class restaurants, 3 bars, mosaic pools, kids club and spa. This is one of the few places I wouldn’t mind getting trapped into.
The suites are incredibly massive ranging from 230 SqFt up to 557 SqFt. With most rooms facing the ocean, the view is already a treat of its own. A few have their own pools and all rooms are equipped only with the best.
But if you want more privacy and tranquility, then NIZUC’s villas might be the perfect choice. It is located at the center of the resort with sizes from 738 SqFt up to 1,640 SqFt. If you are willing to shell out more cash, you will never go wrong with this. It’s going to be worth it.
And if the breathtaking view of the resort makes you crave for good food, it shouldn’t be a problem. I must say that NIZUC dining experience will never disappoint. There are different dining experiences which are carefully prepared by superb international chefs and French Executive Chef, Vincent Wallez. You will definitely enjoy a feast fit for royalties. It’s hard not to try everything!
If you want to go Mexican, expect the best from Ramona, as each dish is made with love. Yes, these are the words that the restaurant’s chef, Bladimir Garci, lives by. Dress up a little for this fine dining experience and try all of the contemporary twists put on classic Mexican dishes!
Asian foods proved to be amazing, and you can have it at this restaurant headed by Chef Mitsunori Ichikawa. Apart from the sumptuous meal, you get to enjoy it with an awesome view of the reflective pool. We enjoyed a selection of Thai and Vietnamese dishes on our visit, including a large bowl of Pho soup with Carpaccio Angus beef!
Mouthwatering homemade pastas are waiting for you in Terra Nostra. The team is headed by Chef Daniele Tonin which makes every food in this Italian – Mediterranean restaurant heavenly and jaw dropping. They say to truly test any Italian restaurant, ask for the risotto first – if it takes at least 15 to 20 minutes and it blows your mind, then start ordering the rest of the menu. We spent several hours here!
Sunday Brunch is only available at Terra Nostra every Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Enjoy different international cuisines as you listen to live jazz music. Good food and good music? That’s hard to beat, don’t you think?
La Punta Grill & Lounge
Do you want to feel luxuriously exotic? Then La Punta might be the best option for you. Choose from the delicious steaks and fish prepared by Mexican Chef Antonio Ramirez. I’m pretty sure you’ll be coming back for more! We spent several afternoons lazing by the pool and retreating back under the thatched roof to sample the seafood dishes and steaks on the menu.
Are you a fan of fresh seafood? Better get a bite from Ni and enjoy a great selection of Peruvian food made by Luis Miguel Flores. Our first lunch here stared with a fresh ceviche to rival what we experienced while living in Peru and the view over the ocean was spectacular.
Café de la Playa
Nothing beats an awesome breakfast, and you can get it from Café de la Playa. Aside from filling your mornings with omelet and Mexican antojitos, you can also enjoy the vertical garden perfect for kicking off your day.
You get to enjoy the Cuban feel of Havana Bar where you can simply relax while sipping your choice of tequila as you lit hand – rolled cigars.
You would certainly be in awe with Bar A’kan’s gigantic glass cubed chandelier. That’s going to be hard not to notice it. However, you might forget it once you try their signature concoctions.
NIZUC SPA by ESPA
Complete your stay by having a relaxing spa treatment. NIZUC SPA by ESPA is said to be the first ESPA branded SPA in the Mexican Caribbean. With that said, you know it’s something worth a shot.
It has 18 treatment rooms with 1 Thai Cabin and 2 luxury villas with private pool perfect for couples. They also have a hydrotherapy circuit for men and women. And that doesn’t stop there. There is a fitness center and a beauty salon perfect if you want to get ready for a romantic night.
Looking for a massive space for leisure or business purposes? NIZUC’s convention center should be able to handle it.
Get your tennis racquets ready because there are 2 tennis courts inside NIZUC. What’s good about it is that their artificial turf and lighting were made to meet the best standards.
You know what we did apart from eating? We did Snorkeling, Kayaking and Standup Paddleboarding. All you need to do is ask assistance from the resort and they would be more than willing to help.
What is there not to love about NIZUC? Our best tip is to forget all your problems and just enjoy this paradise. Every square inch is just amazing and you would definitely keep on coming back. Just make sure you get the rooms with the outstanding view to maximize what the resort has in store for you.
I understand if you don’t want to leave NIZUC given that it’s already a good spot to rest. But if you want to have a break, here are some few activities you can do outside of the resort.
