4. Uma Restaurant

Uma is one of the most in demand restaurants in Barcelona and with good reason. They only have 5 tables so make sure to book in advance. Don’t forget that it’s cash only! Introduced to the Sants district by the Basque chef Iker Erauzkin, this restaurant is somewhat hidden away in a side street — Carrer de Rossend Arrus, 12 —so keep your eyes peeled. You’ll be glad you did when you try delights such as the octopus starter!

5. Casa Batllo

Designed by Antoni Gaudí, Casa Batllo is a fascinating building and is one of the most visited buildings in Barcelona. It’s like stepping into a fairy tale with so many unusual shapes, colours and stained glass windows. At night, the roof terrace is opened up for what’s guaranteed to be a magical night of art, live music and drinks.

6. Montujuïc Castle

Take a cable car up to the popular Montjuïc Castle. The castle, which dates from the late 17th and 18th centuries, has a turbulent but intriguing history, having served as a political prison and the scene of executions in the past. A visit to the castle also rewards you with a view of the city and an insight into Spain’s colonial past.

7. Font Màgica
