Back in the Philippines – Our Luxury Staycation with Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites

By Kach Umandap February 7th, 2020 Posted in Asia Travel Blog, Luxury Hotel Review, Travel Blog No comments

It has been three years since I’ve been to the Philippines, and we had another great staycation at Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites managed by AccorHotels.

I was with Jonathan and my siblings when we stayed here in 2017. Now, I’m back without Jonathan but all my siblings are here including my half-sister Kandace and my Dad. I was also able to meet my Philippines-based team members, Mike, Fatima, and Lyza, who helps me with content writing and social media management.

I just came from Papua New Guinea, and Joy~Nostalg was able to host us as well as being an excellent location for our meet-up at the Roof Bar in Joy~Nostalg. Its location is perfect as it is in Ortigas – near the airport and near malls. Check out my personal experience as we stayed in Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites for the second time!

About Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites

Located in Ortigas, Pasig City, Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites Manila is a building with 229 spacious rooms and suites that are managed by Accorhotels. This high-rise center is not only for residence but is also full of offices of multi-national companies. Be it for business or pleasure; it’s a great choice when you are in Metro Manila.

The Room

We stayed in a Two-Bedroom Executive Suite that could accommodate up to 6 guests plus kids. It was spacious and could be a great place for staycation with family and friends. The master bedroom has a king bed while the other room has two single beds. There are bathrooms in each room and we loved the master’s bathroom.

There was a bathtub with TV and you can get a view of the night sky when you open the blinders, you could also have a sauna and a shower in the stall. Toiletries were complete, with unlimited shampoo, conditioner, and body wash.

The common area also was huge, with a flat-screen TV as well as sofa and great view Ortigas during day time & night. It was really like a home away from home. The kitchen is complete with plates and utensils, a refrigerator, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and a filter for your water. There was also a laundry machine a dryer which was very useful since I had no more clean clothes for traveling. Overall, our room was perfect! Great place for “Balikbayans” like me who wants to be with their whole family since they have a kitchen, living room and even washing machine with dryer – very useful after swimming!

Here are also rooms available in Joy-Nostalg Hotel and Suites:

The Food

The breakfast, more like brunch for us, was very delicious. It was a buffet with a lot of cuisines; Filipino, Malaysian, Japanese, and American. There were cereals for kids, as well as fresh fruits, vegetables, and salads with dressings. Different kinds of bread, cheese, spreads and a toaster was there. Japanese food like miso soup and maki and Malaysian food like laksa or noodles were available. I also had the opportunity to eat more Filipino food, besides fried rice and the usual viands; the Taho was what amazed me. The food was delicious and made everybody full; it’s a great way to start a day.

Facilities in Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites

There is a pool that’s about 4-5 feet deep that my youngest sister enjoyed. However, there is also a Jacuzzi or small pool for kids; this is where my niece spent much time in. The changing area near the pool room was equipped with shower stalls as well as the free use of a locker. There is also a fully equipped gym if you want a work-out; however, we were too busy and passed that one.

The Roof in Joy~Nostalg was also spacious, and we really enjoyed our meet-up there. We had trivia games, forums, and a full-on party mode from 7 pm. The bar doesn’t only offer drinks but also delicious food from pika-pika like fries or onion rings to dinner-worthy like the barbeque pork ribs, chicken wings and many more. It was such a fun night and I was glad to meet about 120 readers of the blog. There were also giveaways from Joy~Nostalg Hotel and Suites as well as from the blog. Congratulations to the winners!
