Ah! The Gambia! I’m still in Africa, and this time, I visited the Gambia and stayed in one of the best beach resorts in the country – Kololi Beach Resort!

If you’re a new follower/reader, I’m a world traveler that aims to travel the world by using my Philippines Passport. I’m now in West Africa and exploring the Gambia. I’m just a few countries left before I reach my goal. Hopefully, I’d be able to achieve this by next year.

I’m just so glad that Kololi Beach Resort is now a part of this journey and I couldn’t thank them enough for this. I stayed here with my friend, a world traveler as well, Daniel. Below are the details of how our stay went.

Where is Kololi Beach Resort?

Kololi Beach Resort is in a very strategic location which is ideal for me as I need to go around when I’m traveling! It’s in Kerr Serign, Serrekunda and it boasts gorgeous natural views.

This 9-acre resort offers lots of recreational activities plus a beautiful beach that can give you the peace and relaxation that you deserve. The villas and rooms are also spacious which are the perfect home away from home.

How We Enjoyed Our Kololi Beach Resort Getaway

So I arrived in the Gambia with Daniel and we’re very thankful that Kololi Beach Resort hosted us. Of course, as what you expect from a reputable resort like, they also have airport pick-up and drop off.

We stayed at their 2 bedroom villa and breakfast was included. There’s a lot of things that surprised me when we arrived in the country and the resort itself. Everyone speaks English so communicating is the last thing to worry about.

Aside from that, they also have a laundry service and money changer. Whether you’re in the Gambia for leisure or business, Kololi Beach Resort caters to everyone’s needs.

The Facilities

Pools and Restaurants

At the resort, you can enjoy pools and of course the beach. Their pools are surrounded by nature so you’ll still feel that cool breeze. There is also food and drinks available around the pool so you can enjoy a meal by the pool with your family, friends, or your partner. Not only that, but sometimes they also hold a game of water polo. Wanna join?

As for the beach, you can go there easily via the staircase. So if you fancy a beach morning swim, it’ll only take you a few steps! However, non-members of Kololi Beach Club don’t have access to the grass beach. No worries though, there’s still a lot of beach for us to take some instagram worthy photos! Haha

Bars and Restaurants

At the pool and beach area, you’ll find bars that offer various drinks and meals. Salt – Bar & Kitchen separates the pool and the beach so wherever you are, you’ll have easy access to this bar. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner serving international cuisine and a variety of cocktails. Moreover, a view of the Atlantic Ocean is also granted when dining here!

Aside from Salt, there’s also Kachadula Bar which is located between the Garden of Stones and Springs pool. Just a reminder, it’s only open during the day time.

Our Villa

As mentioned, we stayed in a 2-bedroom villa which is really beautiful and spacious! It really does feel like a home away from home. Wide kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, the whole villa offers enough space for us to think about life peacefully.

Just to give you an overview, the villas’ amenities are perfect for your next getaway; master bedroom, sitting/dining area, internet, safe, private pool and terrace, fully equipped kitchen, and they have daily room cleaning. If you’re traveling with a group, I’m so sure you’ll have a wonderful stay here. We were only two but it was still memorable.

Our stay in Kololi Beach Resort was unforgettable not only because of awesome amenities and magnificent views, but also because of the friendly staff that were so attentive in assisting us in every way possible.

Why Stay at Kololi Beach Resort in The Gambia?

When we arrived in the Gambia, it was not yet the high season but we already expected that the resort would be full of guests soon! I was also surprised that the country has a lot of expats, and it inspired me to travel and explore more.

Whether you’re traveling to the Gambia alone, with friends, your family, your partner, or even a business trip, Kololi Beach Resort should be on top of your list. You can enjoy both a tranquil and exciting stay.
