  2. Hey guys,

My flight got changed by qatar, and my journey takes 32 hours now instead of 12 hours, I tried to change the flight date but it asks for extra money. So I requested for full refund since my flight is disrupted by them. It’s been 4 days now and there is no update from them.
Do you think that they will give me full refund or they have the right to charge me the penalty fee?

  3. Dear sir. I had been booking my flight through Budgetair.com. My flight number is QR849, departure time is 20:50, Thursday 30 Apr 2020. And another flight number is QR161, departure time is 01:35, Friday 01 May 2020. I couldn’t find my flight detail in Qatar website. Please advise.

    1. You’ll need to coordinate with your third party website (budgetair) in case the flight was canceled or if there are changes.

  4. I rang Qatar and they cancelled my flight on the 7 March 2020. My flight was due on the 12th April 2020.

How long do I have before I need to claim the credit voucher?

    regards
    Kylie

  5. Hello guys. It looks that now is no possible request full refund this option just disappeared from official Quatarairways page?? I hope that I am blind but if not this is totally creepy move from QuatarAirways side…

    1. I have that same problem. This option just disappeared… I try to contant with Qatar via email but after few days I still don’t have any answers…

  6. I have received a voucher from Qatar air, is the voucher good from voucher issuance date (3-21-20) or purchase date (12-15-19)?

  7. I have received some EMDs after ordering the voucher valid for one year. How can I use them? Via the web I cannot find the way (it is not a promotion code) and I have not obtained credits in my account either. It is impossible to talk to anyone via telephone … he always leaves busy …

    Thank you.

  8. It is mentioned that altering the flight date is free but still when I tried to change the date its showing a charging a fee of around 6k. I am changing the flight date due to corona outbreak. So kindly help me providing the steps how to change the flight date without the altering fee.

  9. Hello,

l am one of those interested in getting refund. Is it enough to use the refund form with COVID1045 code or should I begin with manual cancellation under ‘manage booking’ and than aks for refund? How do you understand the process?

    Cheers,
    Jakub

    1. You can use “Manage Booking,” but in case you want a travel fund that option is not available there or if there’s a charge, you can use the refund form.

    1. Hello, it’s probably – “For tickets outside of those dates or to countries not covered by this policy, normal fare rules apply for re-bookings or cancellations.” Please refer to the flight review page of your flight or here.

      1. Hi, the link gives good information for different forms of membership (Platinum, Silver etc.). However, if you don’t have any Qatar Airwaves membership is there any webpage where I can refer for the refund policy??

        1. As per qatarairways, For flights booked through qatarairways.com, the detailed fare rules and purchase conditions along with the price breakdown can be found on the flight review page, after selecting your flight(s).

Some online travel agents also provide the fare rules, typically after selecting your flight and prior to entering passenger details.

  10. Hi, do you have any idea how long a travel voucher takes to come through. I should have changed my dates as my flight got cancelled but now i’m waiting for the voucher to book a flight for next week again!

    1. Have you gotten an e-mail confirmation from them? I’m not really sure how many days they’ll issue it, with the huge amount of requests they have for the past days. Try tweeting them @QRSupport and @QatarAirways

  11. Hello,
Thank you for the information. Do you know if the travel voucher needs to be used only by the passenger or can he use it for his family members or friends during the 12 month period?

  12. Thank you very much for the informative post! I was wondering if you could help me with a few questions about the travel vouchers? Qatar Airways says the travel voucher is valid for one year after I get it, does this mean travel must be booked or completed within one year? For example, we might want to travel in April 2021, and could we do this if we book the flights before one year?

Is it possible to use the travel voucher on any dates, including holidays? We would want to travel on Christmas, New Year’s or Easter.

    1. It says that the “voucher will be valid for one year from its issuance date,” so you can most probably use it on any dates as long as you book within one year from issuance. You could travel anytime you want and use it, however, fare difference may be paid.

  13. Hello,

I requested a voucher yesterday which was 3 days before departure. I wrote in the comments I wanted a voucher but forgot to write the code COVID1052. Do you think this is ok? Also when managing my booking it is still active. Should I cancel it manually? Now it’s less than 3 days before departure. Trying to get in touch with Qatar. Unfortunately it’s so hard to understand what they say and they don’t understand what I say.

    1. Hello, have you tried contacting their offices? If not, try using the contact number of your home country or contacting the nearest office where you currently are.

    2. Hallo Jesse, do u have confirmation from Qatar ? I tried to get refund since more almost 2 weeks but no news untill now.
      Stay safe ,

      Meriana

    3. How did it turn out Lauri? I also sent refund request 2 weeks ago but did not notice the code for refund. I requested full refund due cancelled original/unreasonably changed flights that are still showing on my booking! And the 1st outbound leg is tomorrow 20hrs away. So confusing and can’t get to them.
