6 Days of Pure Relaxation in Gwel an Mor, Portreath, Cornwall – 5 Reasons Why It’s Perfect for Honeymooners @GwelanMorResort
For the past weeks, Jon and I were traveling almost non-stop. We went on a campervan trip in Cornwall, which by the way is totally recommended if you want to save on cost, and have a brand new experience. After that, we stayed in Orestone Manor in Devon and I totally adored our wonderful cottage. I’m really enjoying the United Kingdom leg of our year-long honeymoon trip because after our Cornwall and Devon trip, we went back to Portreath, Cornwall to stay in this heavenly Gwel an Mor. Just so you know, I am falling in love with Cornwall and if we are to stay in the UK, this would be where I would want to live!
Portreath is a small resort located 5 miles north of Redruth. Years ago, it was a very active and busy port trading coals and charcoals. To date, it is a popular destination most especially for beach lovers and surfers. In addition, Portreath has a number of cafes, restaurants, and accommodations which makes it perfect for a holiday getaway, or a honeymoon destination.
Speaking of accommodations, Gwel an Mor (view of the sea in Cornish) is one of my ideal homes. You can check out my Facebook live video that gives you a glimpse of our cottage. This luxurious property is known as Cornwall’s Five Star coastal destination, and I couldn’t agree more! It is located in the beach town, hence the name. Aside from the ‘high-end’ cottages complete with your private Jacuzzi, there are dining and leisure facilities which guests can dive in. They have sauna, spa, barn, fishing lake, children’s play area, tennis court, and cycle hire to name a few. Indeed, you will never run out of activities when you stay here. And if you get hungry, you can just go straight to The Terrace Restaurant and have a feast of Mediterranean -inspired dishes. They even have their event venue for your celebration needs. With that said, what more can you ask for?

Our personal experience on ROOM 101 Mordonnow at Gwel an Mor, Cornwall
Day 1 (Sunday, 30th October)
A complimentary breakfast pack was waiting in our lodge upon arrival. In addition, our bikes were already there! Yes, we had bikes because we are trying to have a healthier lifestyle while we travel. Plus, with a place as fresh as the Gwel an Mor, biking around should be a breeze!
Day 2 (Monday, 31st October)
We had a quick PR meet up and after quite some time, I had a very spoiled treatment in the Spa for a La Stone Full Body Therapy. Can you still remember those days when Jon and I were still doing massages? HA! 
Day 4 (Wednesday, 2nd November)
On our 3rd day, we experienced the Wildlife Walk where Jonathan enjoyed every bit of it. If you don’t believe me, you can just look at the pictures and see what I mean. For lunch, we went to The Terrace and trust me, if I stay here for a longer period of time, I will gain back the weight that I already lost!
Day 5 (Thursday, 3rd November)
The fifth day, we tried to be more active and adventurous by having a Clip’N’Climb session. Actually, we tried to have an active lifestyle during our stay so we went to the gym as much as we could but it was catered for children and teenagers!
Day 6 (Friday, 4th November)
It was hard to say goodbye to our wonderful home for 6 days, but of course, we are nomadic and we have been hopping homes/ hotel/ cottages/ campervans etc for 3 years already. At least now I know what I want for our own home in the future.
While Gwel an Mor, in my opinion, is ideal for family vacations with its large lodges and variety of activities to choose from, I would still recommend this for Honeymooners, and I am listing 5 REASONS why young couples should go to Gwel an Mor.
1. Relaxing atmosphere all over Gwel an Mor
I’m sure that I am not alone when I say that preparing for a wedding can be so stressful. For honeymooners, you need to stay in a place like Gwel an Mor to simply flush out all the tension and anxieties. In Gwel an Mor, the huge space, and greeneries will help you feel relaxed. That’s a great way to kick off your married life, don’t you think?
2. Private Jacuzzi in your Lodge
You know what’s sexy and romantic for honeymooners? Why don’t you pour some wine and talk about your future while enjoying the warm water in your own private Jacuzzi? Yes, I know. It’s a bit movie – like but hey, why would you miss the chance of doing something special when all the resources are in front of you?
3. Spa Treatment and other wellness facilities
I’m sure you will love the spa treatment in Gwel an Mor. We did! Let’s not forget about the health benefits of getting a massage. A healthy body is one ingredient for having a healthy relationship. I may have made that up but that’s true!
4. Restaurant – The Terrace
You might have your own kitchen in your lodge and it is sweet if you cook for your partner; however, if you want to have a ‘date’ as husband and wife without thinking of what to cook, you don’t have to leave the property. The Terrace’s menu should keep you satisfied!
5.Unique activities such as the Wildlife farm tour at the Faedon Farm
Some of you might ask, why is a farm tour even advisable for honeymooners? Well, the point is – as husband and wife, it is nice to do something peculiar and to experience something new. Aside from the great stories you can share with your kids in the future, it’s a good way to build memories together. You can learn from this and your relationship will grow.
So there you go! Actually, with the leisure activities Gwel an Mor has for its guests, I can write down at least 20 reasons. But of course, I don’t want to bore you! I just need you to get that luggage and head to Portreath, Cornwall as soon as possible.

I am not particular with places such this but sure that you got a good ambiance there. I also find the amenities really perfect not just for enjoying but also for unwinding. Glad it also comes with good food, I bet, plus the animals, staying here somewhat like touching the nature too!
