Koukounaries is a wonderful sandy beach in the southwest of Skiathos. The beach is crescent-shaped in front of an inland lake, a picturesque motif on numerous postcards. You can find beach bars, surfboard, pedal boat, sailboat rentals, water skiing, countless deck chairs, and umbrellas along the beach. It gets very busy during the summer season.

The most important monastery of Skiathos lies in a lovely setting on the hills north of the city. It’s easily accessible on asphalt road and equipped with enough parking spaces in front of it. The 190-meter high-altitude monastery was founded by monk Nifon and built from 1797 to 1806. It is beautifully decorated with a museum, cafe, and own shop.
4. Kastro
Kastro is not only worth it for the breathtaking view of the cliffs and beaches but you can learn a lot about the history on the information boards. You walk through beautiful nature and have fantastic views of the east coast. You can also visit a small chapel.

The church is situated high on a hill above the eastern part of the city. From the church forecourt, you will have a wonderful view of the bay, the offshore islands, and the entire city. At night the place appears well lit. The church itself is rather small but pretty enough for a great photo opportunity.

The beach itself is lovely and very nice, the water is clear and clean as usual. Compared to other popular beaches in Skiathos, Mandraki Beach is less crowded which is great. The beach is definitely worth a visit. Just remember to bring or wear appropriate footwear as the small rocks are sharp.
8. The Blue House Art Gallery
This is a very nice shop with a lot of handmade jewelry. Anyone entering this small shop in the old port of Skiathos will find pieces of jewelry that cannot be found on every corner. You can buy some unique and original jewels that will always remind you of your fantastic holiday in Skiathos

A beach that is great for children because of its gently sloping clear water. The island of Tsougria can be easily reached on various excursions from the port of Skiathos town. This sandy beach is quite wide and has a wonderful blue-turquoise color.
