Feeling Lucky in Niagara Falls – Honeymoon, Tourism and Gaming

By Two Monkeys Travel - Contributor November 23rd, 2017 Posted in Destination, North America Travel Blog, Travel Blog No comments

Niagara Falls is known for many things and visited by over 8 million people a year. It’s the most visited destination in North America for honeymoons, it’s the place where Jim and Pam got married in The Office, and it’s the place Marilyn Monroe showed the world her acting abilities in the film Niagara. But, most people don’t realize that Niagara Falls is also a hub of casino activity and has a thriving gambling scene.

There are two key Canadian casinos in the Canadian Ontario town of Niagara Falls. Starting with the Falls View Casino Resort, which offers punters a view of the Falls from their table, framing the gambling experience around the famous waterfall. With a view of one of the most photographed locations and a glimpse out over the entire city, the aptly named casino offers an experience with a difference. The resort boasts one of the most striking images of the man-made Falls skyline while containing 18 restaurants, one nightclub, and over 30 shopping outlets. The Hydro-Teslatron fountain in the lobby showcases to punters the sophistication of the place while focusing on the current times and dedication to the future of gambling.

Casino Niagara sits beside Clifton Hill, on the site of the old Maple Lead Village amusement park. The site must be lucky itself for entertaining as punters have been coming and going since 1996. Known as the first Casino in Ontario to feature electronic roulette, the casino boasts a range of slot games, card games, and even sports betting. There is even a slot tournament area, and several restaurants so you can make sure those in the tournament don’t have to dine with those who have beaten them! Both key Canadian casinos are different and offer a different way of gambling based on how the player enjoys the games.

However, while Niagara Falls offers a variety of popular casinos, there are other options to gamble, without having to trek there. Canada has a range of online casino sites, too, which provide the same casino experience with the added comfort of your own home. Finding the optimal site for your way of playing can be difficult, so it’s helpful to find sites that offer information on finding the online casino that’s right for you with reviews and information on actual players.

For example, according to this Casinoland review, Casinoland is considered to be one of the most popular online brands in Canada. However, if the casino options in Canada and the world of the web don’t appeal to you, luck may just be on your side. Just a short trip over Rainbow Bridge and punters can indulge in the Niagara Falls experience from Buffalo, New York. The Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel round out the key casinos in the small area overlooking the Horseshoe Falls and provides guests with several acres of golf courses and even hosts events – such as All I Want for Christmas Is You with Mariah Carey. Niagara Falls is one of the rarities that can be indulged from two countries straddling the force of nature, and the casino experience can also be enjoyed in both.

The Niagara Falls are a beautiful mark on the landscape, and their enduring appeal has been documented timelessly. But, the fascination with the flowing water may have caused some to overlook the many other outlets of entertainment available in Niagara, just a short trip away from New York City, and helping put Ontario on the map. Niagara Falls provides the perfect day trip to witness how powerful the natural world is – and then gives even more at night with the range of entertainment on offer.
