A Nice laid back atmosphere, this is a good spot if you want to get some surfing done, see a bit of Santa Teresa and Mal Pais without being right in the middle of a reasonably crowded and loud tourist area every night. Great hostel with pool and beach is just across the street; two sodas and a supermarket nearby. Hosts are super nice and helpful; rooms looked nice. FAMOUS FOR: Cascada Verde is the place to stay if you want to have a nice and cheap place in the middle of the jungle. Beautiful setting and the treehouse open building is stunning. The staff is very warm, respectful and eager to help with anything you wanted or needed to do. The atmosphere is relaxed in a beautiful setting. The facilities are great, large open kitchen with refrigerator, freezer and pantry storage space available and great community space.  It is a hostel with fairly basic but comfortable rooms which have flimsy bamboo walls with openings on to the corridors so prepare for little privacy. It is a great Eco-friendly hostel! Definitely one of the best hostels in Uvita, Costa Rica.

FAMOUS FOR: The lodging at Mari and Julio’s hotel is a tranquil getaway, and the family is friendly, caring and funny. This is a gorgeous two story house right next to a babbling stream. All the woodwork in the house is hand made by the owners, who take a lot of pride in their home. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The location is a few blocks up from the main road with grocery stores, restaurants, and banks so its walking distance to downtown but still in a quiet neighborhood. The beaches in the area are great and check out Uvita Waterfall which is an awesome blue water swimming hole. Truly a great place to stay and one of the best hostels in Uvita, Costa Rica.

FAMOUS FOR: Very nice place, private room in an all-wooden house. Laidback atmosphere and the fact that you could see a lot of wildlife at the hostel, with the host having a lot of knowledge to share about animals, plants and the Osa Peninsula in general. Rooms are simple, but it has everything you need. Omar, the owner, is very welcoming and friendly and showed me his frog garden which is quite impressive. One of the best hostels in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica.

FAMOUS FOR: The Bolita hostel is definitely a fantastic and unique place in the middle of the jungle. If you’re looking for nature and you’re looking for hikes, and you’d like to avoid the slightly more touristy route, well this is perfection. This place is just amazing, situated on the slopes of a former plantation, but nowadays nature is flourishing again! A short ride from Puerto Jiminez, Bolita is a superbly comfortable jungle-hut experience for anybody who wants all the benefits of camping out without the headaches. Very special place, some afternoons dozens of toucans would congregate around camp. Really nice staff and great volunteers working. Truly a great place to stay, one of the best hostels in Puerto Jimenez, Costa Rica.
