Head over to the picturesque Coolangatta and go headland to Rainbow Bay to see Snapper Rocks where Roxy Pro and Quiksilver surf competition are also gathered. Here you can watch awe-inspiring sunsets while talking about the future or settling your lover’s quarrel. While doing so, keep an eye out for dolphins usually playing in the waves. This secluded beach is also home to many weddings in the afternoon.

Australian Party

You both looking to party up and down the coast? You don’t need to ride far to raise your glass to an evening of bar hopping. Head over to the Gold Coast’s light rail. The G tram service, as the locals call it runs 24/7 and makes navigating around Surfers Paradise fun and easy. Start by having a round of sunset drink at a Surf Life Saving Club, where you can hang out on the veranda and enjoy a cold brew together as seagulls wheel overhead. Next, go to the bars at Surfers Paradise at night.

Forget malls – they’re rarely romantic anyway. Invite your loved one to browse bargains in the beach instead. Ocean views meet quirky souvenirs in Surfer’s Paradise Beachfront Markets where you can get anything from fashion accessories and organic beauty products to fashion accessories made from cane toad skin. You can also visit Sanctuary Markets at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary held every Friday afternoon. For a full market experience, go to Carrara Markets where you’re sure to find whatever Oz good you’re looking for.

Hinterland trip

Just a 30-minute trip from the busy coastal strip, sleepy villages replace towering high rises. The hinterland is where you both can check out hobby farms, boutique vineyards, and National Parks. Galleries, gift shops, and restaurants are plenty in Mount Tamborine’s scenic main street which is perfect for strolling. Tamborine Mountain National Park, the oldest National Park in Queensland, offers spectacular scenery and remarkable views of the distant high-rise buildings. Providores and wineries are found throughout the area, which you both can discover for yet another lovely stop.
