Preparing for our big day was not an easy feat. There was so much to organize and things to finish even days before our wedding. We were indeed, restless.  But that didn’t stop us into having a quick vacation at Northern Ireland. In fact, it was the best time for a getaway to refresh our senses. After all, we want to look fresh and rejuvenated down the aisle. In other words, we needed a relaxing vacation. And that’s what we got from Culloden Estate and Spa in Northern Ireland.

It was originally built for the Bishops of Down, but is now luring more tourists around the globe. That doesn’t come as a surprise because just by looking at the hotel’s facade, you can easily say that it’s luxurious. With guest bedrooms carefully designed, we already knew that Culloden Estate and Spa is worth the stay.

ACCOMMODATION

We stayed at the Dunlop Suite and I made a live video of it on Facebook. From there, you can see how massive the room is. We have a nice TV set and a king – sized bed. You see, I love big beds because it is so comfortable. The one from our suite didn’t fail me!

Executive Rooms

A perfect choice for business or leisure travelers. They have single and double occupancy rooms, depending on your needs. The entire room is sleek and you will definitely get the relaxation that you want. Most of the rooms will provide you a stunning view of the gardens or the Belfast Lough.

Junior Suite

The rooms have high ceilings which make it appear even bigger. Their junior suites are more contemporary in design but still has that elegant feel. It can accommodate 2 adults which is perfect for couples or honeymooners.

State Suite

If you want space, then the state suite can give you exactly what you wish for. The 550sq ft. rooms are carefully designed to meet any traveler’s expectation. It even has its own relaxation area just in case you want to rest for a bit. You can even have a simple dinner for 6 inside your own room.

If you think that the State Suite is still small for you, then opt for Palace Suites and enjoy the 935sq ft. space which even includes a separate lounge area. You can have a private dining for 8 people and enjoy the best views the property has to offer.

Cultra Inn is considered as one of the best bars and restaurants of County Down. You get to enjoy locally sourced products that will give you a true Irish dining experience. They even have dishes which are vegetarian and Gluten free. In fact, they have a menu tailored for kids. That means, everyone can enjoy eating at the Cultra Inn.

The Mitre

Do you want to dine in style? If you answered yes, then head to The Mitre. This is a fine restaurant run by the famous chef, Paul McKnight. You can be sure that your glasses will always be full as the waiters are there to fill it up. You might as well have the reservation in advance because a lot of people are always craving for The Mitre’s offerings. They have a wide selection from their menu and it would be impossible not to choose something that your taste palate desires for that day.

This lounge is relatively new but definitely something you shouldn’t miss. During the day, you can enjoy your coffee as you plan your trip around Northern Ireland. By night, you can sip some cocktails and meet new friends. This is also the venue for an Afternoon Tea. When you are in Northern Ireland, you must try this ceremony and just enjoy the cup of tea partnered with lovely pastries and other delicacies.

PEOPLE

The staff of Culloden Estate and Spa were extremely nice. You would be greeted upon entering the hotel and it would be a breeze to check in. The guests will feel the warmth instantly and further information about the hotel will be explained to as you walk to your room.
