During the third week of January, I was lucky enough to wrap up my New York trip with a stay at the Hotel Elysee, which is actually the fourth boutique property I stayed in with the Library Collections! Amazingly, they upgraded me to a Junior Suite with a welcome bottle of red wine (Thanks Cheryl!)! Here’s a luxury hotel review of my wonderful stay with Hotel Elysee, New York!

INTRODUCTION

Among the 4 hotels in the Library Collections, the Hotel Elysée is a clear statement of luxury and elegance in Mid-town Manhattan. The building was built in the 1920’s and during the time was known as the place to be for the rich and famous personalities of New York. No wonder why when you see the charming and elegant French countryside style making this hotel an inviting and calming retreat in the middle of the bustling centre of Manhattan. The hotel’s location puts all of New York at your feet – only five minutes’ walk to MOMA and ten to the Rockefeller Center or Central Park. A perfect location for business travellers and those with a love for the theater!

TIPS

Whatever you do, don’t miss the wine and cheese night of Hotel Elysee on the second floor lounge for the hotel’s complimentary happy hour!

AMENITIES

Aside from the complimentary amenities and services I’ve written below, there are also a free computer and printer to use in the 2nd floor club room. The complimentary WiFi throughout the hotel was fast and I was able to do my online work without problems! There is a same-day laundry service, and evening turn down service with chocolates on your pillow with background music prepared for you! Ah!! Love it!

FOOD

Like the other Library Hotel Collections properties, I enjoyed  the complimentary breakfast in the 2nd floor club room, with plenty of fresh pastries, bagels, croissants, great coffee and tea, scones, hard-boiled eggs, hot chocolate — as well as the afternoon wine-and-cheese offerings from 5-8pm. If this doesn’t satisfy you enough cookies, fruit, and coffee or tea are available all day long too! Free newspapers are also available.

ACCOMODATION

I was treated by the kind Management with an upgrade to their Junior Suite! The bed was one of the comfiest I’ve experienced in my whole traveling life! I even had 2 televisions in the room and of course I took advantage of the bath, especially on such a cold winter night in New York!
