Whatever Inspires You, Hold On To It

Whatever inspires you, whatever allows you to dream and keeps you moving forward, hold on to it.

Hold on to it so you can later share it with the world! I’m grabbing my chance to share with you an inspiration dating back all the way to my childhood; and this is why I am writing this article to the tune of A whole new world, from one of our favorite Disney movies – Aladdin!

“I can show you the world, shining shimmering splendid. Tell me, princess, now when did you last let your heart decide?”

It’s so nice to have an Aladdin show us the world and take us to places we’ve never seen. But how long must we wait for a chance to see the world? Sometimes we need to be our own Aladdin and let our hearts decide. That by letting our hearts decide we can stop the waiting and just see the world for what it is – shining, shimmering and splendid!

“I can open your eyes, take you wonder by wonder, over sideways and under on a magic carpet ride.”

This life is one grand adventure, one magic carpet ride; if we could only open our eyes to see that we could be something more. If only we are brave enough to follow our hearts and realize that before we could even go on a magic carpet ride, we must allow ourselves to step on the carpet and believe that it could take us over sideways and under without putting our lives in danger. Like how Aladdin always believed that Carpet would save him, so too must we have faith that we are in good hands. This is how we can finally enjoy life as we let it take us wonder by wonder.

“A whole new world, a new fantastic point of view, no one to tell us no, or where to go, or say we’re only dreaming.”

A lot of times we loathe our lives because we start comparing it to other people, not knowing that we are different, that we have different roles to fulfill and different purposes laid out for us. We fail to realize that maybe wherever we are now, is exactly where we are meant to be at this moment, to learn, to experience; so that we can grow to be someone who can make it to where we dream to be, to where our hearts tell us to be. That maybe we don’t need a new car, a new house, a new place to settle in, but a new fantastic point of view to realize that we already are in a whole new world. Maybe if we realize that somehow across the globe, someone is dreaming to be where we are now, to experience the things that we are experiencing, then maybe we would be more grateful for what we have and with who we are. That we start living when we start accepting ourselves, loving ourselves and when we stop caring about other people’s opinions when they tell us no, or where to go. We then start to follow our hearts, because what is wrong with dreaming when we are dreaming wide awake, fully aware that we can carry out these visions into reality.

“A whole new world, a dazzling place I never knew, but when I’m way up here it’s crystal clear that now I’m in a whole new world with you.”

And then there’s love, which takes us to a dazzling place we will never know if we have never loved. There are all kinds of love in this world, all kinds of experiences that are of love, but I hope that no matter what kind of love we find, and no matter what experiences we’ve had with love in the past, that we will always choose to love. I hope that more than falling, we choose to grow in love and be in mature relationships that take us way up to see a crystal clear view that we are in a whole new world; and that it will always feel like a whole new world when we are with that someone we chose to love.

“Unbelievable sights, indescribable feeling, soaring tumbling freewheeling on and endless diamond sky”

I guess the reason why we really ought to travel is so that we can realize how wonderful this world is. When you realize how magnificent it is, you can’t help but think how awesome the Creator is and how blessed we are to be here to marvel at it all. We finally come to our senses that the world and its possibilities are endless, that it is abundant and that we never have to fear that we could run out of resources. If we only believe that everything we ask is given of us, then maybe we wouldn’t be so greedy or so afraid to take on our dreams.

So open your eyes to the boundless, limitless possibilities and blessings, and see that there is always more to life than what we know now, that there is so much more that we could learn and be. We need to know, that to breathe life into our lives means being in the moment and letting that moment take our breath away. Wetravelingn distance, in time, always moving forward; which is why it really doesn’t matter who we were in the past, or what kind of failure we think we are, what matters is what we do with who we are now and what we do about who we have become. We can’t go back to where we used to be, that is why we take this time to be in the moment, to capture it and cherish it, that when we look back, we only do so to see how far we’ve come, and to remember the people who have helped us get here, the circumstances we’ve gone through, the lessons we’ve learned and to remember that we are resilient and that we will always be moving forward.

“A whole new world, every turn a surprise with new horizons to pursue, every moment red-letter, I’ll chase them anywhere, there’s time to spare, let me share this whole new world with you.”

A red letter moment means a significant moment. So when our days seem routine and insignificant, we should always remember that every turn is a surprise and that is why we should never stop doing our best. It helps to look to the horizon where our dreams are, and know that what we do today brings us closer to where we want to be. We are never too young or too old to chase our dreams, that whatever responsibilities we need to fulfill, there’s always time to spare when it comes to chasing our passions; because the people around us, those who truly love us, will always be genuinely happy for us and with us in sharing that passion.

A whole new world, that’s where we’ll be, a thrilling chase, a wondrous place for you and me.”

Let us have enough faith in our hearts, in ourselves, that we are fully equipped to follow our dreams, our passions. That by having faith in our hearts, we are also showing faith in Him who created us, after all, aren’t we made in God’s image and likeness? When we have enough faith in the good, enough faith that we don’t let our fears stop us, these seeming dangers become a thrilling chase and the world becomes even more fun. We start to cherish our lives because we know that it is short, we start living more with passion. And every day, that passion fuels us like adrenaline rushing to revive us from feeling down, insecure, depressed — drowning the ghosts and demons we have created ourselves, until all that is left for the world to be, is a wondrous place for you and me.

First line, first paragraph is already a spot on! There are times when we doubt ourselves. the times when we’re even ashamed of telling/sharing people the works that we do. This post made me realize that we shouldn’t be ashamed, that we all have a purpose, something to share that could make others lives better, something to inspire them, make them smile.

So don’t stop, never stop on doing that works that you love, do not steal away the possible glimpse of hope that you could give to others. We do not realize it at first but to the right people we are an inspiration.

Just like this post. This can be just a simple inspiration to some, but it cuts deep into the hearts of the few. So RB, please continue writing. Okay? 🙂

  2. Traveling is like a religion to me. It inspires, it refreshes, it’s a therapy and simply makes my entire life better. It is definitely the ultimate experience.

  3. Ah I’m a little bit in love with this post. Being a Disney freak and a travel-holic it’s like you’ve jumped into my brain, rounded up the contents and hopped on out again ;). Aladdin is up there with my favourite Disney films (totally impossible to choose just one)… and now, if possible, I think I love it even more.

Great post – very inspiring :).
