  1. As a solotraveler it means a lot that there are security lockers. They are visible in some of your pictures of the dorms, but not all. Thanks for the info. I’ll be traveling to Laos in a month. 🙂

  2. This summer i went to Laos and stayed at Kounsavan and Pan’s Place!
    Pan’s place was fine, but really basic with the matresses on the floor.
    Kounsavan was great because of the pool!

  3. I’m saving this link as reference just in case I visit Laos again! when I went to luang prabang, we stayed at Apple’s Guesthouse (not mine!) which was a nice place too. very clean and safe!

  6. I’m definitely bookmarking this. I have recently tried a hostel too and because of my good experience there, I was somewhat encouraged to travel and try the hostels instead of finding a hotel, which is usually the biggest expense when travelling.

  8. Oh you could really get a private room at $10 huh.. This is really a great help to travellers esp to those you would want it cheap but have privacy. Is the pool free to use or they ask for another charge?

  11. From the picture Kounsavan Guest House / Hostel Luang Prabang seems to be a common one but a laid back place or a homey one since you are just like at home resting on a nipa hut.
