INTRODUCTION

Our stay in the Naples Grande Beach Resort – Luxury Hotel Review

In Naples, you can craft your own perfect vacation experience – surround yourself with your own personal blend of luxury, leisure and nature. Grab a burger or eat the freshest seafood in a fine dining environment. Get on a paddle board and glide through mangrove forests with alligators and pelicans, hike through the Everglades waist deep in swamp water, or be pampered in a 5 star spa. For visitors like us, Naples is the perfect spot to experience a mix of everything – wake up in a king size bed, stroll along a white sand beach in the morning sun, go paddle boarding with alligators and hiking through swamps, eat a fresh seafood lunch in a fine restaurant, relax rejuvenate with a spa massage, then watch the sun sink into the ocean with a cocktail in hand. That’s a perfect day!

For a relatively small city, Naples has a huge amount to do, ranging from cultural activities, adventure sports, luxury experiences and accommodation and international cuisine. Whether travelling solo, a family break, or a romantic couple’s weekend away, everything you need is right here.

With the highest number of millionaires per capita in the country, something that Naples does very well, is luxury and quality. When we arrived at the Naples Grande Resort, it seems to rise up in front us from the tree-lined street, surprisingly elegant for its size and mass, with its sloping roof, terracotta tiles and in-set balconies giving it a Mediterranean flavour.

The entrance hall was true to its name, a ‘grande’ triple-height atrium space which focused the attention on the giant waterfall sculpture in the centre.

ACCOMMODATION

We checked into our room on one of the high floors, which gave us a commanding view over waterside homes and canals to the left and to the right, Clam Pass Park, Outer Clam Bay and the Gulf of Mexico Beyond. The room was very spacious, with two king size beds, lots of natural light and everything you would expect from a five star hotel room – Refined and luxurious, without needing to shout about it!

FOOD

With seven restaurants, there’s no shortage of options for dining. We ate in the Catch of the Pelican, specialising in fresh seafood, local ingredients and vegetables from their own on-site garden. We tried the locally caught seasonal Stone Crab claw, pan fried snapper and glazed pork belly.

The sunset veranda is the best place to watch the sun go down over the Mangroves, with a glass of wine or cocktail in hand.

The Naples Grande Spa is a serious highlight, designed in a Japanese minimalist theme, with an outdoor stone Jacuzzi spa and relaxing sun lounge area. Inside, the theme changes slightly, with the warmth of natural wood walls creating a relaxing atmosphere in the meditation lounge, where we relaxed in Zen lounge chairs and drank cleansing herbal tea while waiting for our Artisan Massage, incorporating a variety of styles and massage techniques specifically suited to our needs. Soothing strokes, firm compression and deep-tissue pressure, all expertly combined through the all-natural and organic therapeutic massage oil.

In case you’re not feeling all thee outdoor activities and want to stay fit inside, Naples Grande Resort also has an 8000 square foot fitness facility, with views over the water.

The board walk from the hotel takes you through the Clam Pass mangroves and down to the beach, where there are kayaks and paddle boards for rent.

TIPS

Get a high level room with a view overlooking Clam Pass, the sunset view is spectacular.

Dinner in Catch of the Pelican is well worth one of your evenings. Try the glazed pork belly!

Paddle boarding is the best way to explore the Clam Pass mangroves. I had a four or five foot alligator join me a few minutes!

  1. Love the areas around, especially the Naples Botanical Gardens. So much lush green and very convenient to go as you stay in this resort.

  2. The facilities make it attractive and the service must be awesome, right? Nevertheless, the room has enough space but same goes with other hotels.

  3. Will be in Florida next year with the whole family. This hotels looks perfect for us with the activities around and the facilities inside.

  4. The amenities are more than enough to enjoy staying here, the room is spacious and the food look fantastic. what else can I ask for?

  5. I also want a room with the view over waterside homes and canals to the left and to the right, Clam Pass Park, Outer Clam Bay and the Gulf of Mexico Beyond!

  6. wow, this is the kind of place that when you stay, you will never wanted to leave hehe. Everything about this hotel is really superb… the ambiance are so relaxing, the rooms are seemingly very spacious and the facilities are truly remarkable… not to mention those mouthwatering dishes

  7. Awesome place! I love the interior. The color is just so relaxing! It really delivers their name, grand! For me, that’s the downside of too cozy accommodation. It makes me so lazy to get up and just continue cuddling with my blanket and pillow because of the comfort it gives me. Florida seems really a great plave to visit. I just hope I habe the money to sustain my dreams of visiting it. hehe

  8. I would love to stay there for a month! Great place and ambiance. And oh, that cheese platter is really something to look forward to.

  9. I will be visiting this hotel next month and now I know very well that I will be having a total blast! Thanks for sharing the great review!

  10. Great review! I don’t live that far from Naples, so I would love to stay at this hotel! Bookmarking for future reference 🙂

  11. This looks wonderful. Good food, great beach and beautiful sights all make for a great vacation and not to mention the hotel, it looks gorgeous. Added to my list of places to visit. Thanks for the info.

  12. Lovely review as it is really detailed as it was really detailed. Plus, thanks for the area guide. If I get to visit Florida in the future, I’ll take note of the places you’ve mentioned. The sightseeing cruise seems interesting 🙂

  13. It’s a very beautiful hotel. Even though it’s right in the smack of the city, the Naples Grande Resort looks like home. It doesn’t feel crowded. And the food looks well-prepared. I’m sure lots of people troop to this hotel for their staycation!

  14. Love your review! You gave a very detailed description of the entire place! Basing on your review, it sounds like it is mainly catering to families. Do they allow dogs to come with families who check in there?

  15. The rooms were pretty spacious, I guess that’s a plus for staycations. I like the idea that you can sea the sunset on your hotel. I’m a sucker for sunsets! I hope this is strategically located to the tourist spots around Naples. That should then be a bonus!

  16. The room looks pretty ordinary, so it has to be the location, isn’t it? Star rating is given to facilities so yeah, they also have that track (foot fitness) that is unique. Service must be very good. It does look so and feel so. Lucky you to stay at the Naples. 🙂 Given a chance, I would want to!

  17. Okay, Naples Grande Beach Resort is sold! haha Would love to stay there when I visit Florida, which would be in a couple of years or more. Of course, the USA is in my bucketlist. Only, there are so many places to see and experience in Europe, too. SO one country at a time. Love your review, by the way! You gave a very comprehensive description of the place, its amenities, facilities, and nearby recreational spots. It’s perfect for people planning some stay-cation, or just wanting some stable, easy going vacation. It also looks suitable for families, if I may say! I wonder how/if they cater to small children?

  18. My family loves staycation and we also like staying in a luxury hotel if budget permits. Base on your experience, Naples Grande Beach Resort is really good. I like that the room is huge and it has two king sized beds. If I were there, I’m sure I will just stay in the resort and enjoy the facilities and amenities. 🙂

  19. I’ve never been to Florida but seeing your post, it looks like its worth looking into. I love your photos! You look chill and having lots of fun! 🙂
