Hello to all the seat sale abangers who haven’t slept a wink last night waiting for PAL’s 78th Anniversary Seat Sale. I know you’ve all been patiently waiting to book that flight only to find out that the system is down. Here’s one important thing I found out about this seat sale: Unlike other airlines’ Seat Sale which would start at 12MN, Philippine Airlines’ Seat Sale doesn’t necessarily start around that time. It can start at any time of the day from March 1 and end any time on March 10. Now you don’t have to deprive yourself of that well-deserved sleep! Tulog tulog din tayo mga kababayan!
Anyway, here are some things that you ought to know about this!
HOW MUCH ARE THE FLIGHTS ON SALE?
If you’re lucky, you can get yourself a Php 78 Domestic Flight (One-Way, Base Fare) and a USD 78 International Flight (One-Way, Base Fare). This means that this fee EXCLUDES Government Taxes, Fees, and other Surcharge.
WHEN IS THE TRAVEL PERIOD?
Travel period is from March 16-December 2019. Having a list of all the long-weekends for 2019 will now come in handy.
HOW MANY SEATS WILL BE ON SALE?
According to Mr. Ryan Uy, PAL’s Vice-President for sales, over 2 million seats are available on sale– 60% for domestic flights and 40% for international flights. That’s over 2 million seats up for grabs!
WHAT SEATS ARE COVERED BY THE SALE?
Apparently, 1.9 Million seats are for Economy, 260,000 seats for Premium Economy, and another 170,000 for Business Class. Wow, you can now have the chance to fly on Business Class without breaking the bank.
WHERE CAN I BOOK THE TICKETS?
DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS TO GET THAT CHEAP FLIGHT?
1) BE PATIENT- There’s a lot of people wanting to book a cheap flight so expect some competition going around. Don’t stress yourself too much because these flights come and go when you least expect it!
2) BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR TRAVEL PERIOD- Don’t stick to a specific timeframe. Make yourself available within the weekday because these flights are usually cheaper than the one for weekends.
3) BOOK FLIGHTS FOR A SMALL GROUP- When I say ‘small group’, I mean try booking by groups of 2 in case you’re traveling with other people. It’s easier to find cheap flights this way. I don’t think PAL will give 10 seats only for the same person.
4) BE FLEXIBLE WITH YOUR BUDGET- Sometimes, you would get prices that are slightly higher than the posted seat sale rate which isn’t bad at all. Try to spend a little more than that because most of the time, these fares aren’t bad at all especially when you’re traveling with a 4-star airline!
That’s it for this post! Happy booking everyone! 🙂
