Our Honeymoon Itinerary in Paris, France

You know when I was younger, I would always tell myself that one day I will go to PARIS with the love of my life. Well actually, most girls dream about this. After all, Paris will remain one of the most romantic places in the world. Anyway, I guess words are indeed powerful because it was my first time visiting Paris and I just got married to my prince. Dreams do come true; I tell you. So here’s my advice – when you want something so bad, repeat it to yourself and eventually, it will happen. Trust me; I think you all know my story and how I believe in the Law of Attraction.

So going back to our Paris tour, we stayed here for three nights and four days. We were so darn lucky because we stayed at Hotel Le 123 Sebastopol – Astotel. It’s a cozy hotel, and you can see it from our pictures, especially that of Jonathan’s. You can tell that he loved the room… and his bathrobe!

In my opinion, this property has one of the best locations. It’s just a 20 – minute walk from Louvre Museum and a 10 – minute walk from the train station. Everything is just practically within your reach. If you want to take quick photos of these tourist spots, that should be easy!

In this post, I’m going to share our itinerary and perhaps, use it if you think it suits you well. Or if you have better suggestions for others, feel free to comment and help our fellow kalamkari enjoy the best of Paris.

We arrived late from Luxembourg which is around 9:00 PM! It was tiring but the bottle of champagne made it worthwhile. YAY! Then at 10:00 PM, we went on an Illuminations Tour of Paris in a Vintage Citroen 2CV! Can you imagine that? Going around Paris in a vintage ride felt like I was in a movie. For me, starting our tour with this was one of the best decisions I made.

It was a private tour that we arranged thru the GetYourGuide website. I would recommend that you do the same. It’s really easy, and the price is competitive. If my memory serves me right, you can get a tour for less than $100.

During the tour, you get to see the best buildings and sights around Paris at night. You will experience firsthand why Paris is called the City of Lights. Your driver (ours was amazing, Hello Jean-Luc) will pick you up from the hotel and will take you around Paris’ well-known spots. You get to see the amazing Arc de Triomphe, the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, Opera Garnier, Ile de la Cité, Petit et Grand Palais, and the list goes on. There are even off-the-beaten spots where you can upload great awesome photos which you can brag forever!

Your tour will run for 1 hour, and if you want to have a ‘wine and cheese kind of ride, that’s possible too. The evening tours are available from 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM except on a few dates such as 14 July, 25 December, 31 December, and 1 January.

Honeymoon Trip to Paris – DAY 2

On our second day, we visited Eiffel Tower. Why wouldn’t we, right? 🙂  Come on!

When in Paris, I think it would be a mortal sin not to see this iconic structure. On our first day, our guide asked us if we’d love to see the tower. We politely said no because we opted to have a guided tour dedicated to this beauty. We went up the Eiffel Tower and had one of the best views of Paris. Again, this is highly encouraged. If you have a fear of heights, this is the perfect time to beat that.

When I say it is breathtaking, I meant every letter of the word.

To end the day, we enjoyed a 4-hour Lido de Paris cabaret experience on the Champs-Elysées while having a delicious dinner! Seeing the traditional burlesque act by the famous Bluebell girls was phenomenal. It is artistic on so many levels and how I wish I am still as flexible as these artists. 🙂

On our 3rd day, I wanted to make the most out of our Paris trip. I mean, this has been my dream. I might as well do whatever I can. That’s why we rented an electric bicycle to go around the city and we had a romantic champagne cruise at the Seine River.

At around 9:00 PM we returned to the TOP of EIFFEL TOWER to watch the illuminations at night. This romantic scene –  while having a lovely dinner at 58 Eiffel Restaurant! I don’t know about you, but it was just picture–perfect. Honeymoon Trip Itinerary in Paris

Don’t you think? Imagine what we are going to tell our grandchildren in the future. I’m sure they will have high honeymoon standards too! Haha. So that you know, it was very easy to arrange the tour and get tickets.

Honestly, I wanted to do more given that it was my first time in Paris. You see, Jonathan has been to Paris three times already, so he just let me choose the activities for this leg of our honeymoon. Looking at it, I think I just want to go on a honeymoon forever so I can be the “boss” and choose whatever I want! Kidding! I have to say; that I have the most supportive husband. 🙂  haha!

What I love about Paris is that you can have fun regardless if you choose a day or night tour. But of course, we would recommend that you do both.

PS The itinerary above is based on my personal preferences which most of the time include prosecco or champagne! I didn’t get drunk, though – or did I? You can ask Jonathan.  🙂
