Parque National Manuel Antonio, in Western Costa Rica is a 682 hectare piece of luscious, jungle paradise, packed with one of the most biodiverse natural habitats in the world; rain forest, a huge diversity of wildlife and spectacular coral reefs. Today, we had a guided tour of one of the best areas of the park with an awesome wildlife guide, Danny Vasquez of Quepos Verde Aventura, a tour service owned by  Parador Resort and Spa – the top luxury hotel in the area – who showed us sloths, bats, monkeys, land crabs, lizards and raccoons, plus loads of incredible bird species only found in this area of jungle. If you’re looking for something a little more backpacker friendly, we recommend checking out Vista Serena; it’s just around the corner and has one of the best sunset views in town!

  6. Danny as a photographer is amazing. It’s difficult to take photos of animals, let alone take great shots of them. This makes me want to travel to Costa Rica and see the animals with my own eyes. Will make sure to get Danny Vasquez as our wildlife guide too. Hope we can afford him.

  16. I love this post and the pics! I went to Manuel Antonio back in 2008 and it was amazing! Costa Rica is one of my favorite places so far. I would go back again and again. I also love that they support ecotourism and are environmentally sound. I can’t wait to go back someday with my husband! Enjoy!
