From suggesting activities to preparing tea just to provided good company, they’re always available and friendly. The architecture and overall feel of the riad are amazing. It feels like you have stepped back in time into a grand palace. Considering that the riad is located in the maze of the medina, it is surprisingly easy to find. Since it is on the edge of the medina and only a few hundred meters from a traffic circle that any taxi driver will know, getting lost on the way to check-in is not a real problem. Definitely one of the best hostels in Fez, Morocco.

FAMOUS FOR: Hotel Auberge Africa is a very nice and simple place, reasonably priced and located in front of the dunes. You can camp there on your own or join a camel trekking into the desert. Try to make friends with locals as they invite you for a better individual Sahara experience. The room is basic, clean, freshly painted, and spacious. The bathrooms are shared, but again, clean and the shower has good pressure and is very warm. It’s a budget traveler’s paradise and truly one of the best hostels in Merzouga, Morocco.
