The country is also a part of the Coral Triangle that has more than 500 kinds of corals and is conserved and protected. Tubbataha Reef, Palawan

Tubbataha Reef is the top of the best scuba diving destinations in the Philippines and a part of the top scuba diving destinations in the world. It is not only a UNESCO World Heritage site but also was nominated as a New 7 Wonders of Nature. With a highly populated marine life as well as birds, it surely is a great destination to dive.

According to its website, “the Tubbataha Reefs Natural Park is home to no less than: 600 species of fish, 360 species of corals (about half of all coral species in the world), 11 species of sharks, 13 species of dolphins & whales, 100 species of birds, and also nesting Hawksbill & Green sea turtles.” It’s truly a wonder, and the best way to see this is through a liveaboard dive trip.

March to June, summertime, is the best time to dive there as it’s not rainy and the seas are clear and calm.

Do you want to see one of the most elusive sharks in the world; the Thresher Sharks? You could catch a glimpse of them in Monad Shoal. See triggerfish, giant napoleons, and mantas when you dive in the crystal waters. You might also find baby sharks near the shores. The corals and other creatures like starfishes and sea cucumbers are stunning and colorful, as well.
